Splash of purple

It's a splash of purple this week at The Play Date Cafe. The challenge is to use the colors black & white with a splash of purple. This is what I came up with. I don't normally work with purple which is why I love challenges. They get me out of my comfort zone. Not too mention using product that's collecting dust in my studio. *giggle*

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is having a recipe challenge this week. 3 Designer Series Papers, 3 Ribbons, and 3 Flowers. This is the card that I came up with. It certainly was a challenge for me. I never put that many flowers on anything. *giggle* It was so fun!! Thanks Stamptacular for an awesome challenge. I had so much fun with this tonight. I was totally looking for a project to wrap myself in. Best thing is I know EXACTLY who this is going to be mailed to. ~:0)

A winter challenge

The card I have to share with you today was created for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. Their challenge is to create something with a winter theme and use the following picture as inspiration.

I think these two trees are just beautiful! The minute I saw this picture I knew that I wanted to have trees on my card. So... this is what I came up with.

It was fun creating the snow from some Melissa Frances mica flakes. I also put some dazzling diamonds on the trees so they sparkle too! This card is so whimsical and fun!! I hope you think so too. Our weather has been bitter cold and we got more snow today on top of our already 5 inches. Brrrrr It's the kind of weather where you just want to stay under the covers.

My V-day project is a home decor banner. I love the soft pinks and roses in this new paper line from Making Memories. Once I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do. The shape of the banner is made from a die set from Papertrey Ink. There's also some Melissa Frances goodies, Tim Holtz keys, and pink bakers twine in there. Can you say Yummmmmie?? heehee Here are some close-ups.

The card I have to share with you today is for The Play Pate Cafe challenge this week. The challenge is to use the colors, grey, green, and orange. this is what I came up with.


The accent die was just given to me by a good friend. I couldn't wait to use it. Isn't it gorgeous? All the cuts on this card are from Spellbinder dies. I am loving these shabby ribbons and use them whenever I get the chance. Ok... that's it. Lots of updates this weekend. I have been one busy girl. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

A Chic Challenge

Boy this must be the week for challenges! I was feeling extra creative today and decided to join in the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. Their challenge this week is to use WHITE AND/OR CREAM PLUS ONLY ONE ADDITIONAL COLOR! The following photograph is to be used as inspiration.

Doesn't this table setting look heavenly? It reminds me of something you would see in a French restaurant. This is what I came up with. It's an invitation to dinner. At a wonderful French restaurant (just read the tag).

The colors I used where white and cream together with a beautiful sage. Accents in kraft and inking in brown were also used. This was such a fun challenge and I look forward to doing more of the challenges over at The Shabby Tea Room.

Esty inspired challenge

Hi Guys,
Happy Weekend!! 
I found a wonderful and new to me challenge blog. Esty Inspired is a challenge blog that uses art to inspire art!! How cool is that? They select an Etsy store and feature it on their blog. The challenge is to visit that store, select something that inspires you and create something. Then share it on their blog. How fun!!

The store this week is Nanny's Room featuring an Arizona artist who primarily uses watercolor and colored pencils to create her paintings. Just beautiful!! These paintings are also sold as jewelry. Who doesn't love some bling? And handmade at that!!

So here is the item I chose to be my inspiration.

I don't normally select flowers to be in my creations. But this was so beautiful it inspired me to not only put 1 flower... but several!!
Here is my inspiration piece.

The leaves were placed in to mimic the greenery in her painting. Pink was chosen as the color I picked out of the painting to use on my card. I love the pink in the rope/ribbon of the necklace. If you are looking for a fun challenge check out the EtsyInspired Challenge blog.

A cup of life!

The card I have to share with you all today was inspired by my grandmother's garden.  The beautiful floral print paper by Melissa Frances, the lace border and pearls are all details that remind me of her garden. And of course what's a beautiful spring day in the garden with out some afternoon tea? This sentiment from Verve stamps is perfect!! Sums it all up pretty well if you ask me.

Sketch Challenge

Hey guys!!

It's Monday and this week it's a sketch challenge over at Paper Therapy! We hope you'll join in the fun and play along this week. The sketch is pretty basic and easy to be embellished on. Here is what I came up with.

I have to say that I LOVE Verve stamps. No one does sentiments quite like they do. No matter the project or theme I am doing I always reach for Verve sentiments first. It's not just the heartfelt words but the font as well. Can you see the added lace embellishment at the bottom? It's much more apparent in person. I am still working on my photography.

So Thankful

Can you believe we are almost done with the first week in Jan? Holy cow. Christmas seems so long ago doesn't it? Back to the grind that's for sure. The hubs and son are back to work and school. I was finally able to get my house back in shape. Now it's on to my crafty to do list.

Just a heads up I will be having 2 blog hops coming up. One this month and one next month. Both with a Valentine/Love theme. So I'll be offering up some great candy for those and some wonderful projects to get your inspiration flowing.
